New release: Borderlands a la 8-bit

Gearbox Software releases an 8-bit browser-based game of the Borderlands franchise "The Border Lands".

Yeah that is right, back to the 8-bit era baby, it has even a ranking system that works perfectly, I made it to rank 81 out of 490, question is, can you beat that? Play the game here.

Playing and Learning AfterEffects with videocopilot.net

Today I was checking some new tutorials from www.videocopilot.net , and I saw one called Dynamic Machine Gun, as soon as I saw it, I wanted to test it.

I always like the tutorials from Andrew Kramer, he is a great AE Mentor, if you are interested in learning AfterEffects, I highly recommend to check their site, there are beginners tutorials and believe me, if you put some time on them, you will learn fast and will be able to create some cool visual effects for your videos, website, etc.

Watch the version I did today of the Dynamic Machine Gun effect:

Darksiders II EU Collectors Edition for PC Unboxing.

Darksiders II EU Collectors Edition for PC have arrived! It will be released the 21st of August but I got my copy today, nice way to start a sunny weekend!

Wondering how cool the real size Death's Mask looks like? Watch my unboxing video:

Nintendo 3DS XL, really a big difference?

This week I got my new 3DS XL in blue color, I was waiting the silver one but I was told I will need to wait longer for it, but the blue one is cool anyway.

Now, is there a big difference from the normal 3DS ? Yes, a huge difference actually, the screen is way bigger than the normal 3DS and in my opinion the new 3DS XL is better than the normal version.

If you want to see the difference, watch my video of the new 3DS XL unboxing and size comparison against the normal 3DS.

Darksiders II PC out now! Video: 30 mins of gameplay.

Darksiders II for PC is finally out. In my opinion, this game rocks, the PC version of course needs some patches still, there is an issue with vsync options, for some reason it doesn't work properly, unless it is forced through the Nvidia Control Panel. I am thinking to write a review as soon as I finish the game. In the mean time, I recorded the first 30 minutes of the game showing it's gameplay and of course some SPOILERS, here is the video:

On guard! thrash metal fans! new material is out there!

On July 27, 2012 Testament released their new album: Dark Roots of Earth, I bought it the same date the special edition that includes the Bonus Tracks. This album is so great that I even dare to say that is way better than the previous album: The Formation of Damnation.

Of course I am a metal head and I love good thrash metal, and Testament is always labeled as the " Big Five" of that genre along with Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer and Anthrax, but to be honest, Testament for me is the "Big One", and this album is ridiculous awesome, if you are a thrash metal fan, don't waste your time, go buy the album now.

Here is one song, titled "True American Hate" to taste the amazing thrash metal from Testament's newest album:

I can't stop listening to this album, what a great time to be a thrash metal fan \m/

Max Payne 3, loyal to the franchise?

Currently I am playing Max Payne 3 on Max difficulty, and I must say, it is hard, I die every minute, but it is fun and challenging. When we are talking about Max Payne, we are automatically thinking of the Master pieces Max Payne and Max Payne 2, that were devoleped by Remedy Entertainment, that is not the case with Max Payne 3 as it was developed by Rockstar Studios and published by Rockstar Games....Rockstar Games...right, when we mention it, we have a game in mind, oh yeah, Grand Theft Auto (GTA), a classic one. But in this case GTA is just not a coincidence, while Max Payne 3 is a good game overall, it is just not the same as the previous ones, and to be honest, it feels like it is using a GTA IV improved graphic engine, don't get me wrong, but I think Max Payne 3 served as a test for the next GTA: Grand Theft Auto V graphic engine.

But why, because believe it or not, Max Payne 3 feels more like a GTA game (excluding the open world), at least to me, and that makes sense because Rockstar is behind it, I am not saying it is a bad game but Max Payne 3 has lost it original feeling, even if we have the classic "Bullet time" in game.

So, do you think Max Payne 3 is loyal to the franchise? Leave your comments.
